Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play - Anime Review

As I’m a big fan of this fifty-two-episode TV series, I remember in the DVD anime days that there was a website called animeprime.com, and they created custom DVD covers for the release of Fushigi Yugi on DVD. I still own these files to this day, and that should show how much I adore this anime TV series. My favourite character on the Suzuka side is Nuriko, with Nakago being my favourite from the Seiryu side. This anime was one of my earliest viewing experiences, and I always rewatch this anime TV series in December every year. I own every manga volume of Fushigi Yugi Genbu and Bakkyo that has been released to date. I hate the fact that every episode ends on a cliffhanger ending, which makes this anime addicting, IMO. I thought that the music, animation and voice acting is great overall, and I still hold out hope today, that there will be a Fushigi Yugi Genbu anime adaption, but it’s not very likely in today’s anime climate. Overall, this anime is a personal favourite of mine, and I can’t wait to read more manga volumes of the Fushigi Yugi franchise.
