Memories - Anime Review

As I’m a fan of OVA series, due to having a higher budget in them, I thought that Memories was a fantastic three-episode OVA episode. The runtime for Memories is one hour and fifty-three minutes long. I thought that the first story Magnetic Rose, was easily the best of the bunch. Magnetic Rose deals with three space travelers following a distress signal, and this episode runs for forty-four minutes. The space travelers are forced to go through the memories of Eva Friedel, a famous opera singer, and get out of there alive. As I’m a sucker for opera music and frilly dresses, I was in heaven during this OVA episode. I thought that the horror scenes in this OVA episode was a slow burn, but I loved how each space traveler was affected differently during this episode. The second OVA episode is called Stink Bomb, and deals with a young chemist transforming himself into an unstoppable bioweapon. This OVA episode went for about forty minutes, and is more of a comedy OVA episode, then a serious one. Overall, I thought Stink Bomb was my second favourite OVA episode, of this three-part OVA episode. I thought that the world of Cannon Fodder was interesting, but the premise of a watching a day of firing cannons at an unknown enemy, can only be so limited. I thought that the 3DCG backgrounds were crisp to the 2D parts of this OVA. Canno’s Fodder’s runtime is thirty minutes long. Overall, I enjoyed all three OVA episodes, and I would recommend this three-episode OVA to other anime watchers looking for something new and different in there anime watching.
