Millennium Actress - Anime Review

As I’m a big fan of the late great Satoshi Kon and all of his works, I will admit that one gets the feels, when watching this movie. Millennium Actress is a fantasy/romance movie the blurs the line between reality and fantasy. This movie follows filmmaker Genya Tachibana, and famed Japanese actress Chiyoko Fujiwara. Chiyoko is a reclusive, but slowly but surely warms up to Genya Tachibana. One has to watch this movie very closely, as one will miss the detail that Eiko is now Chiyoko’s maid. Despite Chiyoko only making seven movies in her lifetime, I thought that the key and the chase in this movie, was simply a fantastic plot point. I liked the character Genya in this movie, as despite his crush on Chiyoko in this movie, Genya is able to make Chiyoko open up about her life story. I thought that the one hour and twenty-eight-minute runtime, just flew bye IMO. I thought that the animation by MadHouse , did a fantastic job of bring this movie on the big screen, as there were no animation errors, that I could find in this movie. Overall, this is my second favourite Satoshi Kon movie, and IMO Satoshi Kon is a master storyteller, as this movie is an original story.
