Macross Plus The Movie - Anime Review

Macross Plus the movie, is basically the same story of Macross Plus OVA, but with extended scenes and new animation. Macross Plus the movie opens up with Isamu already a test pilot. The extended scenes in Macross Plus the movie is an extended Sharon Apple concert scene, near the end of this movie. Another scene that is not in the Macross Plus OVA series, is a scene were Isamu and Lucy sleep together. Another scene that is not in Macross Plus OVA is where Isuma, Guld and Myung when they are young, dealing with getting lost in a swamp. There are a few more extended scenes scattered throughout the movie, but the main new scene IMO, is an extended scene where Isuma and Guld are fighting the controlled Ghost fighter, and Guld destroys this Ghost fighter, near the end of this movie. Overall, I prefer the Macross the Movie over the Macross Plus four-part OVA series, but one may like the OVA’s better. Overall, I enjoyed rewatching Macross Plus in both formats, and watching these two versions of Macross Plus, makes me want to watch good anime.
