Macross Plus OVA - Anime Review

As I’m a big fan of the Macross franchise, I thought that I would review this four-episode OVA series. This was my first anime DVD that I bought from my local pop culture shop, in the late 90’s, and my love for anime. This OVA series features cell animation, and computer-generated images, throughout the four-episode OVA episodes. I thought that Shoji Kawamori and Shinichiro Watanabe did a fantastic job co-directing this OVA series. If I had to praise somebody from the production crew IMO, it would be Yoko Kanno, as she composed music for this OVA series. Despite the story being about a love triangle of adult leads, the entire cast of characters get excellent character development, IMO. I thought that the action scenes were good in this OVA serie, but my favourite scene from this OVA series, is easily the Sharon Apple concert scene in episode two of this OVA series. Overall, this is a must watch OVA series IMO, even if one doesn’t like mecha.
