Black Jack - The Movie - Anime Review

As I’m a fan of the character Black Jack from Osamu Tezuka, I thought that I would watch this movie, and I thought that it was a solid movie. As the director of this movie is Osuma Dezaki, I find that Osuma Dezaki’s directional style is a love or hate it audience response. As I like Osuma Dezaki’s director’s approach to anime directing, I thought that the one hour and half an hour runtime, was perfect for this movie. I will warn audience’s that this movie contains medical gore. Also, I thought that this movie goes a good job of showcasing the mindset of professional athletes face when the spotlight is over. I thought that the Atom, Kimba the white lion and Princess Sapphie easter eggs as jigsaw pieces was interesting, IMO. I thought that Dr. Jo Carol was an interesting antagonist to Black Jack, as they have different opinions on medicine. I thought it was great that this movie contained adult characters, and not teenagers, which was a refreshing change of pace for me. Overall, I enjoyed this movie, and I can’t wait to watch the Black Jack: Two doctors of Darkness movie in the near future.
